Sawa EcoSolutions is excited to announce a new partnership with MAS Miracle Farm and PT Solusi Tani to conduct field trials exploring the benefits of biochar on soil health and crop yield. This collaboration is a significant advancement in our commitment to sustainable agricultural practices in Indonesia.
About the Partners: MAS Miracle Farm, located in South Jakarta’s Cimanggis region, is an educational facility focused on sustainable farming. They collaborate with institutions like the Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) and vocational high schools, making them ideal partners for this project. PT Solusi Tani, an Indonesian manufacturer of organic fertilizer products, is committed to innovating and finding natural ways to support agricultural growth. Their expertise will be crucial in the trial design, and they will provide the organic fertilizers to be tested alongside biochar.
Purpose of the Study: The field trials will assess how biochar interacts with both chemical and organic fertilizers, focusing on its effects on soil health and crop yield. Soils from various regions across Indonesia will be used to understand biochar’s impact under different conditions. The results will be shared with local farmers, who will be invited to visit the test site to observe the outcomes firsthand.
Next Steps: The trials are set to begin by late August to early September 2024. This partnership marks the start of an exciting venture into sustainable agriculture through biochar.
